The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins

This is the ultimate atheism FAQ and should definitely be the first step on your journey to the truth.  It covers all of the most common arguments for and against the existance of a god, explores the possible origins of religion itself and provides a humble invitation to allow free thought.

It may sound silly, but it took a lot of courage for me to be able to buy this book.  There was a time when I walked wide circles around it when I saw it in the book shop.  Once I was on the fence of agnosticism it didn’t take long for this book to give me the confidence I needed to step onto the side of Atheism.

The Blind Watchmaker, by Richard Dawkins

This book explains the nuts and bolts of natural selection.  If you want to know how it really works, this is the book to read.
